Honey is not just a food item.
Honey is an all out wonderful product that is extremely
beneficial to your health. Honey not only sweetens
food, it has medicinal values as well. Honey is
more than nature's sweetener, much more. Honey is
produced from honeybees. In the Bible, God referred
to the promised land as the land flowing with milk
and honey. Surely what God meant is that both milk
and honey are good. Otherwise His promised land
wouldn't be flowing with it.
If someone asks me what one product
I'd want to have in my house at all times I would
say with a resounding voice - A honey. What exactly
does honey do?
Hippocrates (460-377 B.C.) said this
about honey, "It causes heat, cleans sores, and
ulcers, softens hard ulcers of the lips, heals carbuncles
and running sores."
* Honey is an excellent germicide.
It's because honey is moisture absorbing. Honey
placed on a wound or burn will heal very nicely
and fast. This is because germs cannot live without
water and the honey's drying effect keeps the wound
and/or burns dry. A piece of linen soaked in honey
and placed on the infected or burned area will bring
about healing results in as little as 24 hours.
Honey is worth trying on any type of wound from
chicken pox to rashes. Burns on finger disappear
after the wound is dabbed with a bit of honey onto
the blister and cover it with a bandage and by the
next day the burn is cured. It also takes the pain
away.
* Honey has been
known to aid in the healing of lung diseases such
as TB. It has been well known to alleviate allergies
as well as asthma.
* Honey is a heart stimulant. Honey's
long lasting effect is due to the slow-absorbing
sugar laevulose.
* Honey is good for diabetics. Yes,
the sugar in honey, levulose is so slow to absorb
that the diabetic body can easily handle it . (Please
note that if you a diabetic it's extremely important
to receive the approval of your physician before
trying honey.)
* Honey has been known to cure migraine
headaches. For the premenstrual-type headaches,
which are similar to migraines, take 2 tablespoons
of honey and the headache disappears within an hour.
* Honey helps to alleviate hornet
stings.
* Honey helps to lower blood pressure.
This is because of its moisture absorbing power.
* Honey can help with bed-wetting,
again because of its moisture absorbing power.
* Honey helps to alleviate muscle
cramps.
As you can see honey certainly has
a place in your house. So next time you're at the
market, grab a jar of honey and put it to use!
