Preparation time: 10 minutes, Cooking time:30 minutes 
Requirements:
1 kg dates
12 almonds
12 cashew nuts
12 pistachios
1/4 cup ghee

1/2 litre milk
3/4 cup Honey
4 cardamoms powdered
water as required

Method


Soak almonds and pistachios in hot water and remove skins. 
Remove seed from dates and chop into small pieces. 
Add to the deseeded dates 1 cups of water and milk and simmer on low flame, adding water as required to soften dates. Mash dates to a pulp and add cardamom powder. Now add honey and ghee before you cook for 5-7 minutes. 

Coarsely chop the nuts, add to dates and mix. Cook till thick and pulpy or till the mixture reaches porridge like consistency. 

Date Halwa can be served hot or cold. 

Serves: 6.

This recipe is delicious and nutritious due to high fiber and being  free from processed sugar.
