Human Beings are the only ones who have been bestowed by God with the sixth sense and the intelligence to discriminate between good and bad.

We need knowledge and intelligence along with love, honesty and integrity.

We have all the knowledge, intelligence, money, resources, and technology available in our hands. All these things put together should give us a happy and peaceful life. But on the contrary we have developed insecurity, hatred towards religions, communities, countries, greed for more money, power, Desire for unethical things and so on. Swami says" knowledge without intelligence is useless and intelligence used inappropriately is dangerous."

We see this in our present world today. We misuse our intelligence and the education to invent dangerous weapons in the name of self-defense and protection and we use it against each other. There is no love for the fellow beings. If there is love, we will not be seeing all the violence happening around us now. We see that moral values are disintegrating in all walks of life, both public and personal. The entire Eco-system is badly and brutally endangered, and the very revival of our society and the world depends upon a wide -spread renewal of individual commitment to an active value-based life.

What is the purpose of Education? Real Education should enable one to use the knowledge to meet the challenges of life and make all the creation happy. The present education system prepares the child for a living, but EHV program prepares the child for life. Swami says," End of education is character. Education without character is not only useless, it is positively dangerous."

Here is where is education in Human values comes into picture.

  What has happened to us?

We have forgotten that we are the children of One God. We are part of the divinity, which created us out of love. If there was no creation there will be no Love. We have forgotten that love is the basis for creation and love is the binding energy that sustains life.

Bhagavan says "I created myself from myself to love myself." Beginning of life is out of LOVE. We are all part of the Divine. When we love all, as part of divinity life will be so peaceful, there will be no hatred, jealousy and violence.

  Where are the Human values?

They are not outside. They are within us. We just have to bring them out and put it to proper use.

The word value is derived from the Latin root word, 'Valerie' meaning to be strong and vigorous. To be of value is to have certain virtues. From historical viewpoint, a value in traditional philosophy is as ' Truth, Goodness, beauty' i.e. 'Sathyam, Sivam, Sundaram'.

The EHV program moulds a child into a truthful, good and beautiful person from the inside.

Swami says EHV is 3 HV. Head, heart and hands working in unison. Thoughts from the head must be examined by the heart and then put into action by the hands. When we listen to the heart it will guide you in the right way. This way we can increase the voice of the conscience, and make the children understand that their conscience is their best guide. He will learn to discriminate between good and bad.

Our present educational system caters well only for the head with the information. It develops the skills of the hands. But the heart is neglected.

Here in EHV classes we make the children understand that all the good and all the bad is within us. We can't understand and enjoy the nature without the 5 senses; like that we can't understand God or understand that we are part of the Divine without the 5 human values. Our aim in EHV is to make the children become caring humans. First we should make the children understand that
  1. God exists
  2. That man is part of the divine, and all the creation is part of divine

Peace and harmony in the world can only be attained when there is inner peace and harmony.
